Well today is day three! Today we shuttled into town and after about half an hour in a little coffee shop we all went across the street to the bikes. After a demonstration we were off leaving the city behind in single file on the side of the road.

We soon had to leave the pavement behind as we entered the palm oil plantations and found ourselves on muddy backroads. After a while of enjoying the scenery

and getting covered in mud, the child portion of the ride ended, and all the kids got on the shuttles because apparently the next part was all up hill. Mom, dad, uncle Ford, auntie Linda and unle Brent made it to the end at a town called Londres, Quepos. Then we drove for a while, maybe half an hour until we came to the small town of Santo Domingo for a home cooked meal with a local family. Unfortunatly none of the kids were really hungry and Nathan (one of the guides) said that we were probably dehitrated.
After lunch we could either hike to the hotel or drive and since I was feeling pretty
rotten I rode with a few other.

Though most did hike those who did got to try eating termites and told us they tasted like carrots. We were staying at a hotel called Rafiki, it was out in the middle of nowhere but for that same reason it was beautiful and very peaceful. The rooms were huge tents that connected to tiled washrooms. (I found a gecko in ours!)

The hotel had one of the five fastest waterslides in the world so we rode that a few times

and then Simon, Johnny, Elle, Noah and I went out onto the lake they had there in a raft. We got to see what I think was an iguana but it was a really good swimmer because as soon as we got close to it Simon tryed to hit it waith a paddle and it swam away. After paddling on the lake for a few minutes we noticed that there were wierd seaweed/ algae bulges at the bottom of the lake (it was a small lake so we could see the bottom or what we thought was the bottom). Loqei, the son of the owners, (he's older though and has a little boy who's really cute!), told us that it smelled really bad when you touched the seaweed, but being the kids that we are we went ahead and grabbed some with our paddles. Anyway now Simon calls the lake "fart lake" because it really stinks and we smelled like it for a little while which wasn't fun.
After we showered we lost the smell and went down to dinner. Then we ended up playing monopoly on my phone all through the meal and into dessert (dessert was good but we didn't realize till after that we had no idea what we had just ate). Bye!
Here is a picture of the sunset from the hotel.
